Former Leeds United defender believes on-loan star will be ‘in demand’

Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills believes that on-loan star Ben White will be on the transfer wishlist of a whole host of clubs according to Football Insider.

White has been in sensational form for Marco Bielsa’s side so far this season and is bound to be at the forefront for a move to the Premier League regardless of whether Leeds achieve promotion or not such have been his performances this campaign.

The centre-back on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion has played every minute of the campaign for Leeds and has forged a good partnership with club captain Liam Cooper.

Mills said: “When you’re thinking Manchester United need somebody, Manchester City need a defensive player, Tottenham may well need a defensive player.”

“I look at those teams and think there’s no reason he shouldn’t be in that mix. If you could play him alongside an experienced player. Just imagine putting him alongside Aymeric Laporte and learning from that, or Toby Alderweireld.”

“You’re suddenly thinking: ‘Hang on a minute, he could really be a fantastic player.’ He needs to stay at Leeds until the end of the season but then I think he will have a raft of offers.”

White has played in League One and League Two with Peterborough United and Newport County respectively but had never before plied his trade in the Championship but has taken to it seamlessly.

There has been mounting speculation of interest from Liverpool and other top flight clubs and it seems incomprehensible to think he will be a Leeds United player if they fail to get promoted.
