Macclesfield Town looking into deal for ex-Manchester City forward

Macclesfield Town are keen on a move for Peterborough United forward Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

The Silkmen are looking to bolster their squad this month as they look to try and stay in the Football League this season. They are currently 23rd in League Two and three points from safety.

Sol Campbell has already delved into the transfer market this month to sign wingers Adam Dawson and Enoch Andoh and is now looking to further boost his attacking options by landing Buckley-Ricketts.

Buckley-Ricketts, who is 20 years-old, joined Peterborough United in July from Manchester City on a permanent deal but is yet to play in the league for the Posh. He has made just two appearances so far for them, both coming in the EFL Trophy.

Therefore, Macclesfield are hoping to bring him back to the North-West for him to gain some more first-team action.

Buckley-Ricketts was born in Manchester and joined Manchester City at the age of 13. He progressed through the youth ranks there and also represented England at U18, U19 and U20 level.

He got his first taste of senior football during a loan spell in Holland with FC Twente during the first half of last season. He played six times for the Eredivisie side before returning to the Etihad Stadium in January.

Buckley-Ricketts was then loaned out to League One side Oxford United for the remainder of the campaign and made 11 appearances for them.

He may still have a bright future ahead of him at Peterborough but a loan move to Macclesfield would be beneficial for the youngster.
