talkSPORT betting tips – Best football bets and expert advice for Wednesday 8 May

The Champions League semi-final second leg between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich is the pick of the action on Wednesday with both teams fancying their chances after a 2-2 draw in Bavaria last Tuesday.

There is more continental action in Belgium with Club Brugge attempting to overturn a 3-2 deficit in the second leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final at home to Fiorentina, and the League One play-offs continue at the Weston Homes Stadium where Peterborough will try to recover from a 1-0 loss away to Oxford.

Bet of the day

Real Madrid to win vs Bayern Munich - 10/11

Real Madrid’s second string clinched the La Liga title on Saturday with a 3-0 victory at home to Cadiz, and their strongest 11 should be too strong for Champions League semi-final opponents Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are on a 20-match unbeaten run and they look well-placed in the tie after Vinicius Junior’s 83rd-minute penalty gave them a 2-2 draw in Bavaria.

Bayern sustained their seventh league loss of the season on Saturday, going down 3-1 at third-placed Stuttgart, and they are unlikely to fare any better in the Spanish capital.

Special of the day

Peterborough v Oxford to draw, Mark Harris to score & both teams to score - 33/4

Oxford claimed a narrow 1-0 success at home to Peterborough in the opening leg of their League One, play-off semi-final and they can advance from the tie by achieving a score draw at the Weston Homes Stadium.

The Yellows have lost just one of their last nine matches and their counter-attacking prowess is likely to pose serious problems for Posh, who will have to chase the game at some stage.

Peterborough are League One’s highest scorers with 89 goals but their defensive record (61 goals conceded) is the worst among the top five.

Oxford should get on the scoresheet and their 15-goal top scorer Mark Harris looks the man most likely to strike the decisive blow.

Long shot of the day

Nicolas Gonzalez to score the first goal - 13/2

Fiorentina have lacked a prolific goalscorer this season but their Argentinian attacker Nicolas Gonzalez has netted 13 times across all competitions and could be the man to open the scoring in the second leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final away to Club Brugge.

The Viola will be keen to build on their 3-2 first leg lead and are likely to select an attacking line-up with Gonzalez expected to feature on the right flank.

Gonzalez should be fresh after being given the weekend off and looks like being a key threat against a Brugge side who generally struggle to keep clean sheets.

The 26-year-old impacted the first leg by laying on a fifth-minute goal for Riccardo Sottil and he looks an overpriced 13/2 shot to break the deadlock in Belgium.
